A Twilight date with the Boss ;)

This Boss came straight off the shelf of Airguns of Arizona. I opted for the laminated pepper stock (which is really nice), but she eventually found her way into the Steve Corcoran stock that I won from Extreme Bench Rest last year. "The Sled" is designed specifically for Benchrest shooting.

A powerful, accurate & sexy combo.

I received a new FX Boss in early July of this year and the rifle has proven to be an INCREDIBLE shooter. I can shoot over 120 yards from the rear deck of my home. I placed a 1"x3/4"x 2" lead ingot, painted bright orange, at 115 yards - hanging from a piece of stainless wire attached to a tree branch. Hitting the ingot when shooting from a bench rest is not even a challenge. It is easy to hit the ingot over and over again. I got bored hitting the ingot and started shooting the ends of small dead tree branches next to the ingot. Pencil-sized branch ends are a challenge, but doable more often than a person would think.

Beautiful rifle Michael!! I guarantee the rifle will continue to amaze you each and every time you shoot it Mine has and does.

"Cliff_Allen"Michael that's a sexy piece you've got there! Would love to see you post up some groups at 100 yards if you ever had the inclination to do so. I've been a little more curious about longer range groups after trying it with my Royale. Regardless, awesome looking gun, thanks for posting the pic!

Regards,
Cliff
Cliff, I would shoot 100+yards all the time if there wasn't a forest in my way! My furthest target is set at 70 yards.

"zebra"Please can you post a few more pics of it? I'd like to see a close-up of the stock if you have time.

Did you notice any change in accuracy when moving to the new stock?

It looks awesome btw. I love seeing Steve Corcoran's work.
Here you go"

This design really helps the rifle settle in to a front rest & rear bag. It also adds a bit of weight which is normally a desirable trait for benchrest shooting.

That is one sweet stock!

You definitely want that extra weight for BR and I love the flat underside on the forearm. It makes for one super stable shooting platform and, against all odds, it manages to look harmonious with the bottle.

The only BR stocks I have seen which come close is the ones from these guys:

Some of the BR / FT stocks they make for Daystate and FX guns look spectacular (although they work with composites instead of wood).
