A red squirrel just stole a walnut From my tree and jumped on the roof…

I don’t know where he went from there, however, I know where he’s going. Stay tuned.

🤣

We have all three red, big red and gray. They all choose to live in my trees. They will get them back again someday.

The little red squirrel danced across the roof one more time this morning. First he woke me up by dropping a walnut on the deck. So of course I tried to sneak him, He is the wind.

However, he did wake Penny up, so I put her out on the steps. Again Mr. squirrel drops another walnut on the deck just as I’m dozing off. Penny is on the other side of the house, so she has no clue. So I go for the window. He of course jumps on my roof and runs across again. This time he is met full on by my barking dog. She went absolutely nuts. And he leapt off the roof. I have to say quite entertaining.

Remember, it’s a pass fail system, and the semester is not over. There is no grading on the curve.

Sorry... I know what a gray and a red squirrel are, but what is a "big red"?

Or are you talking about individual squirrels and not species? (chuckle)

Thanks!

P.s. I only have Eastern grays here.

The big red I was referring to are fox squirrels. Huge compared to red squirrels. Significantly larger than gray.

OK, I never heard Fox squirrels referred to as "big reds" around here. Now I know. LOL!

The largest Fox squirrel I have ever seen was the size of a large house cat and had a HUGE black head. That was over 30 years ago and I have never seen another one even close to the size of that behemoth! Wish I had pics... (heavy sigh)

BTW, I have done searches for a pic of a squirrel that looks like that one many times and never have found one online.

The head was "puffed up", black and HUGE! I first saw it by its tail behind some very tall grass. I actually thought I was going to see a Fox when it came out from behind the grass. I was amazed when this behemoth squirrel walked out from behind the grass. At the time I was fishing from a kayak and didn't have a camera or gun. I was so amazed at this animal that I doubt I could have gathered myself enough to shoot either a picture or a bullet!
