A quality, simple and reliable PCP for field work ?

I like how on these type of treads one of the first questions back to the OP is what is your air source. That’s actually a biggie and should be answered by any OP wanting to get into this sport. Knowing what the air source is will help with the suggestions back.

From what I’m taking from the OP’s description of what he’s looking for, I, too, say a Marauder. Very easy to maintain, parts are readily available stateside, o rings can be had for the local ACE hardware, and leaves room for a hand pump and/or a scope.

a far better choice quality wise would are an air arms s510.... musch better trigger and top notch barrel out of the box. and much eayser to load magazine.

I picked up a Brocock Concept without a guage for under $300 and it stacks 18g jsbs at 50 yards. It's like a higher end multi shot Disco. Slim stock, small cylinder, deep blued finish and a HW barrel. Trigger is a bit heavy in stock form but breaks clean.

Not as modifiable as some of the other platforms but they're well built and so far have been problem free for me.

If your looking at 177 or 22 cal, the brocock bantam highlite is straight simple and very well built and the used ones are cheap! if your looking for 25 cal or bigger? The Eastern Europe stuff is very good, taipans,Vulcans, Crickets. this is a very good and repetitive topic, usually the same answers, cheers!

Jayson has hit the nail right on the head, the Eastern Europe guns are like the 78 Ford truck. Very reliable, very easy to work on, use very available orings, and very accurate. I personally have a Airgun technology Vulcan tac. That I have personally but over 6000 pellets through with no problems. I haven't even had to replace the breach oring.

Another vote for the Daystate Huntsman Regal. I got one a few years ago for pest control on a property where I was living. It's well balanced, has a fantastic trigger and great ergonomics. I've had zero problems with it and found the factory setup to be absolutely fine. A fully charged tank provides 40-45 shots and takes maybe 5-10 minutes to refill with a hand pump. Super accurate too, once you figure out which pellets it likes.

My favorite for field is my Edgun Leshiy. I use it in both 22 and 25 caliber with both the 250 mm and 350mm barrel . The reason I like it best is its weight and compact size. It’s easy to carry without becoming an anchor. In my back pack I’ll also carry a small air tank that carries enough air for a few days of shooting.
