A New Toy For the Ol’ Man

I shot one of these many years ago in Doc Beeman’s store.

I think he called it the Beeman 850.

But it is a Diana 6M.

Duckfish had me shoot his last week at the Diablo Silly Wet Match.

This one came today.

Not a scratch. Not a blemish.

It cocks like a new one.

I will check the speed very soon.

The box said Made in West Germany but on the pistol it says Made in Germany so, after 1989...

That's a nice one! I had a 6M many years ago and regret letting it go. IMHO the barrel quality and trigger on these guns is very underrated, not to mention the cool recoil-eating system.

Congrats on your acquisition. Very nice pistols they are. I have it's cousin the 6G. These are accurate and fun springer pistols to shoot without the springer recoil to mess you up. Enjoy it.

As I suspected it was built after 1989.

On the receiver is 04 98

Well I checked the speeds.

Ten 7.0 RWS WC

High was 493fps

Low was 474fps

Sd is 6fps

Ten 8.2 RWS WC

High was 433fps

Low was 427fps

Sd is 4fps

It enjoys the heavy pellets very much.

I shot a target at 12 yards off of a solid rest. The first three the sun was in my eyes so I put up an umbrella and shot 10 more...

Shoots right along with the IZH46M..

Sounds like it's shooting very strong. You should be patting yourself on the back for this buy, LOL. 

It's been a long time, but I recall I had a hard time sighting my 6M in; it always shot high. I wondered if it was because the 6M uses the front sight off the full-race model 10 (which had a lower rear sight), but the same rear sight as the models 5G and 6G (which used a taller front sight). But obviously you don't have this issue, LOL - nice shooting!

If I shoot 7.0, I have to hold about four inches low at 12 yards.

If I shoot 8.2 I hold only 1.5 inches low.

Today I tried some 8.64 H&N....

Same point of aim as 8.2.

It does not like the light pellets..
