Crows are smart, so you can use that intelligence against them. Not only do they quickly learn to distinguish dangerous humans from others, but recognize the dangerous human and teach other crows. It's true; though scientists studying them still can't figure out how.
Say a murder witnesses you kill one while wearing a hat. Not only will the witnesses recognize you in that hat and (somehow) teach non-witnesses, that hat itself might be a pretty good scarecrow even without you in it.
