A Massive Raccoon And Her Young - I Got One Of Them

Raccoons have been ripping down planks from the back porch of my rental property being renovated. So I camped out there for a late night waiting to get a good shot at stop the damage they are doing. The mam got away, but I took out her kid.

Taken with the Benjamin Bulldog shooting NSA 110gr .358cal Hollow Point Dish Base slugs. The scope is the ATN Thor 4 1.25-5x in Black Hot Mode.

What an unnecessary waste of life.

And you are proud of killing small animals which cannot fight back.

You fully deserve to be treated the same way by this world. May you meet your match.

Why are there so many rednecks in this hobby?

Well he clearly stated that the raccoons were pests that were destroying his property. Then he made his post in the Hunting Section. If this content offends you why did you watch it? You then take it a step too far and wish that one of the members of our forum meet a similar fate. Do you mean that you wish him to be killed? Surely that is not what you really want? I don’t think that your post is going to go over really well here on this forum. Have a nice day.

WTF is wrong with you? Are you equating a man’s live to a Pest that is destroying his property? you clearly are saying he should be shot for protecting his property. You are in serious need of mental evaluation!

please do yourself and us all a favor and leave this hobby and this forum!

You are fully entitled to your opinion, but so is the rest of us. Wishing a fellow airgunner to die is unacceptable.

If you have problems with killing animals, stay out of the hunting section please.

i would like to use stronger words, but dont think that would be constructive.

I humbly submit which of the two is the greater transgression? What estarkey7 a FREE citizen has done legally without any harm to humankind within his property? Or pinguinu01 who has suffered no injury other than emotional, responding by putting the chicken foot of ill will on another human being? Our founding documents clearly state Life, Liberty and the pursuit of HAPPINESS in the blood of countless patriots to make and keep it as proclaimed.

1 Corinthians 10:29; I do not mean your conscience, but his. For why should my liberty be determined by someone else's conscience?

Keeping the focus on your post and not others nonsense! Way to go getting rid of the destructive bandits. I had a huge one on my back deck but by the time I went to grab my rifle my wife had let our American Staff out to clear the way and the raccoon bolted over to my neighbors yard.

They have caused damage all around my house so when they hit my land I do like you.

Yeah, I'm going to ignore the PETA death threats altogether.

Raccoons in my urban environment have to go. I have had a family of them rip down my soffit and were living in my crawlspace, and that taught me that any problems with raccoons should be dealt with swiftly with full deadly force. I was limited on how I could deal with them, as I live in a heavily populated residential area, so the .25 cal Bullboss was all that I could use to dispatch them after setting traps.

But at this less populated area my rental resides in, I can let the Bulldog loose a bit.

@estarkey7 On two levels I agree, if racoons are being pests and destroying property that costs you money then yes eliminate. Random ones in the wild I feel leave alone. I do have exceptions to this rule, which covers the former, and that is with invasive species like eurasian collar doves, sparrows, feral pigeons and ESPECIALLY, starlings!

One question, where did the comment you all quoted of the "snowflake" go?

Nice shooting!! One of my new favorite guns i have is my bulldog! Look forward to more of your videos . I have the emperor on my gan and plan on putting a de pinger in the future. Doubt I do anymore mods. Curious if you have anything done to your gun or is it stock?

I do have the pitbull power spring. It's an easy 5 minute install, and gives some extra power to the heavier slugs. The 110gr NSA were going 830 fps before the upgrade, and now they are almost flying at 890 fps. Nothing is free though, as now I fill up after each mag, where before, I would fill up after two magazines.

My property is in an urban environment, 8 houses on a 250 ft long street. A few empty lot to my rear that nature has taken back, so this trash panda is definitely not in the wild.

I think the admins may have banned his account. Kinda a highlight having death threats from someone that wouldn't bust a grape trying to make wine! 😃

So, I gotta question... At the end of the video it looked like another one just sitting at the tree line. Any reason why you didn't take that one too? Just curious.

That was the mama raccoon that I grazed a few minutes before. She actually sent her kid out there to see if the coast was clear.

The reason I didn't take the shot is because this property is in an urban environment, and that raccoon was sitting on top of a six foot tree trunk. I know it's hard to see with the thermal, but there is a house to the left of the empty lot behind me, so all those shots are 100% a no go. Even with the shot on the baby raccoon, rounds passing through don't necessarily take a straight line. All these shots must have ground backstop, and from my 30 degree angle, they safely come to a halt.

Most times I'm shooting with Predator Polymags, and they almost never do a full pass through on groundhogs and such. But that mama raccoon is easily three times the size of the groundhogs I pest, so I was loaded up with the slugs for that extra punch. I should have been using the NSA 142gr slugs come to think of it!
