I live in the suburbs in a neighborhood of 1/2 acre lots so not the sprawling rural hunting grounds..
My plan when I got into this hobby this spring was to thin the herd of rabbits that created SEVEN nests in my backyard in a matter of a couple days. I ended up getting a rabbit every few days for a couple of weeks and they have become sparse for now. The other night me and the wife went across the street to sit on the neighbors back patio and have a beer. As we're sitting there a rabbit comes hopping out and my neighbor asks me where my pellet rifle is...I tell him sitting on my dining room table. He asks if I can go get it and take out some of the rabbits that are having some major meals in his garden as well as his expensive plants. Of course I am always willing to help.
I go get it, set it on it's bipod on the patio table and have a seat. I ended up with four rabbits in about 30 minutes, from about 5 yards out to 35 yards. I never had to leave my chair, just move the rifle a bit It also showed me I need to work on close shots. I'm zeroed at 25 yards and the two at 10 yards and under had headshots what were a bit lower than I'd like, a few seconds of flopping in place. The two headshots over 20 yards dropped on the spot without a twitch.
My neighbor and his wife told me to come sit on their patio whenever I wanted. He also commented that the thump of the pellet hitting the rabbits was almost as loud as the shot itself. LOL
