A hurt 460

I bought a Diana 460 mag. .177 used a few months back. When I first got, it within 10 rounds I realized I had a broken spring. Replaced with a Vortek. Great. All’s well. Barely shoot it realizing the leaver arm won’t catch the ball joint.

Up on inspection I catch a crack in leaver arm fitting.

I’m so glad I caught this before it broke off.
I go to take stock off and I notice the star washers against the wood. Don’t like this cutting the wood.

Will put a flat washer against the wood. I get to the culprit.

Is this a common fault?
Where’s best place for replacement?

that was the problem with the 46 and the 460 was supposed to fix it and it has not
i doubt Umarex will sell you the parts
Knibbs and Chambers do not list it
OMPS 2 has it listed but if they will sell it plus shipping out of Italy would be in the 80.00+ range

the idea of welding could be an idea good or bad because the material it is made out of is unknown by me but it is cast maybe a sheeve could be added
the cocking arm has always steered me away from Diana's underlevers and knowing that the parts are hard to get

about all i have, you will need some luck to fix it but how much is unknown

i thought i should look on Waffencenter and they have a picture of the part and you can see from the picture they have changed the part by adding a gusset under the arm right where yours broke
the price at Waffencenter is about the same as OPMS-2 but there shipping to the states start at 54 euros and yes i have been shopping
if you can get one from Umarex do so and it would be my first call but my guess will be no you can not have the part but ship it to us and we will fix it but maybe these have an old recall that could cover it i have no idea but they know they had a problem because they redesigned the part

Thanks for the info. I know cast materials are a lot harder to work with, if at all.
My K98 and other 460 both have the gusset, whew.

if it is cast aluminum you might be able to fix it by weld and then if you have enough space above it i would add a carbon fiber sleeve epoxied on with 24 hour JB weld 82655 the best epoxy i have found, cleans up with rubbing alcohol and will have plenty of work time
now after saying that the handle would have to a even millimeter diameter meaning full mm like 18 or 19mm

Thanks for advice. I don’t know if there’s room for a sleeve. I was thinking of repairing, but part is defective. I think I’ll get a replacement. Crow

but i still think i would try to repair it after the new piece is installed

In this case I would have been way better off buying new.
I spent more on this 460 repairs than all my rifles put together in 4 years.
I will take it to my buddies fab plant to see. Crow
