A good day at the office

I don’t post groups because people don’t believe me, but today was special at 100y! The two Moa groups are 9 shots each after I retuned at 90 bar!

If they stay inside the 1inch squares I am happy, but the lower left group is just nuts! JSB 18.1, Impact SSTX 700 pp. Problem is the slug group upper right isn’t jaw dropping, they seem to like a little more reg pressure, but then again what’s wrong with pellets that can do this?

Don't worry mine shoots just as good at only 80 bar and a little less speed.

Can you tell me how long is rifle with 700 mm barrel? Mine is suposed to be 600 mm but is very long for bullpup.

With the butt piece and moderator, it is about 100cm long, it's not really a bullpup IMHO, kind of a carbine/bullpup. Funny that you ask the question though, as I think I need a longer, wider bag:)

It's a luxury that I deeply appreciate and just 15 minutes from home ensured that I paid yearly membership the very first day I visited! Having a 30-yard zero and then 100 to validate is amazing, knowing that the gun isn't the problem in the field is good for my neurosis and indoor shooting is good for my ego, so a workable compromise!

My 700 pellet barrel loves 895 at about 105bar and the valve stop very closed but the SSTX just screams at this velocity, totally against everything that I have experienced! Let's see if I can do it again tomorrow. If I can't, well I have a grainy phone pic!

That is some great shooting! I love seeing groups, just not the ones that claim they are 1/2” at 200yds, off hand with a 10+ mph cross wind! LOL

I’m totally jealous of your whole set up...The indoor shooting range, video monitor and LabRadar! That is so sweet!

No matter how great we are, when testing accuracy outdoors at 100yds, any shot that isn’t on top of the last one, which is 99.999% of the time, leaves us wondering if it was our shooting, the gun or the wind. Your 100 yard indoor range is a luxury that not many of us have, totally stoked for you! I’ve never even had the chance to shoot past 50yds indoors but would absolutely love to. It sure would make identifying the cause for missed shots more definitive.

Have a great day! Stoti

Mine is also around 100 cm with moderator.

Does that mean i have a 700 mm barrel?

It was sold as regular 600mm barrel.Sniper model with 70 mm barrel was more expensive where i bought it.

I guess i will have to take my shroud of tomorrow and measure it.

Btw did you try jsb knockouts?In mine they were shooting about 1"at 100 m sometimes better and sometimes a little worse. This is with regular stx pellet linerat 950 fps.But the barrel fouled up soon and it was hard job to cleaned it. So i switched back to pellets.

@Blejda

I have the .177 and .25 kits in 500 and 600 respectively, the 600 mm kit is marginally shorter, and the back of the shroud has a square edge vs a tapered one on the 700, just have a look behind the scope rail overhang and you can check without pulling the barrel, its also not an issue to just pull the barrel and shroud... I have only tried the .217 KO's in the SSTX, they were not as good as the .218 H&N, I later discovered that the KO's would probably group better in the standard stx pellet liner, but I have been playing with the SSTX barrel almost exclusively for the last few months, and I shoot a fair amount of pellets so the 25 gr tune was too much power for pellets. I JB bore pasted my liner and finished off with the green 3M cloth wrapped around a nylon .177 brush attached to my drill, it helped a lot, then I pull a snug Ballistol patch, followed by one or two dry patches before each outing, I haven't done this to the pellet liner and I find many lead flakes on patches vs the polished barrel, also notice corkscrewing and know that its time to clean.

@Cc, Stoti and Sonny,

I know you guys are over in the US, but the offer is open to all! I am allowed one visitor in that lane per visit, so if you bring the air, I will bring the measuring toys, the range has no limits on fresh targets and if you want to get really anal we are allowed to turn off the fans and shoot with 0 breeze! if you are familiar with golf jargon then I can arrange for a few "Members Bounces" while at the range!!!
