FWB A FWB 55P in parts.

Got hold of an old FWB 55P that the previous owner had given up. It was in poor condition and badly needed some TLC.

You may never have wondered what a FWB 55P looks like when it's almost completely disassembled. But anyway, now you've seen it. ;)

Please keep us informed as to your progress. Was it functional?
No, it was not functioning. The previous owner said it was fubar. I have heard that before, and usually that means someone with the lack of knowledge and understanding has messed up something they just should have left alone. It was very dirty inside, and full of old, hardened grease. And most of the adjustment screws was way out of tune for the pistol to work. Even the regulator was tampered with, set point was below 50 bar. But now it is cleaned, properly lubed, regulator pressure set to 80 bar and all adjustment screws are reset to defalt settings. Unfortunately I'm at the cabin now, and I forgot to bring with me the cronograph and a test magazine when I left home, so I have to wait until next weekend to test the pistol properly. But I have got it to cycle 3-4 shots between malfunctions, so I'm cautiously optimistic about the pistol. 🙂👍

my dad said, don't take the clock apart unless you can put it back together
in this case an air pistol

Waffen center offers few parts, so good luck and after looking at the parts diagram that is a very complicated pistol
Thanks for the thought, but don't worry. 🙂 I have taken apart and put together many air guns over the years. Air gun repair were actually my job for a period, so I want to be so unassuming to say that the pistol is in relatively safe hands.
The pistol is put back together, but I have to wait until next weekend before I start adjusting muzzle velocity and cycling. Air gun repair is pastime when I'm at the cabin, and I forgot to bring a chronograph and test magazine when I left home yesterday. But then I have something to do next weekend. 👍

Congrats ....so far at least it is working
Actually, it works now. I couldn't leave it in limbo until next weekend, so I had to try to see if there was hope. After some adjustment of the firing spring screw and the choke screw, it started to cycle fairly steadily. I suspect the muzzle velocity is a bit low, it sounds a bit limp, but the most important thing is that it has actually been brought back to life. :)
Now I have peace of mind and can leave it for a few days until I get my chronograph and can make the final adjustments. (y)
