A fun day hunting collared doves

Took "Headbanger" (380mm 22 crown) out today and shot collared dove....time to get them all cleaned up and ready for the family over Christmas. I will breast them out then put a pickled Jalapeño between the breasts, wrap them in bacon, then onto the BBQ they will go...TASTY!!!!

Birds were from 50 yards to the long of 97 yards. Most shots were 50-70 yards though.

Love the rifle, and the dove bacon jalapeño wraps sound amazing!

Good haul you got too!

I nope you enjoy, I just can not get past the dark meat taste of the Euro Doves , I have tried everything just cant handle the taste, I don't waste the meat my 30 box turtles love them, and they are a pest bird.. Good shooting , I have seen some white wing Euro dove cross , That is really going to suck if it keeps up on a big scale.

Ben took me to a dairy down there a few years ago.

Unless youve done it, VERY hard to wrap your head around just how many shots a guy can get. We went through a couple tins that day. He had the .177 Red Wolf and I used a .22 Red Wolf Standard set to 20fpe. I was actually sore the next day across the shoulders and upper back, from so much shooting.

LOTS of fun.
