A fine day to shoot. Decided to give the R9 another try.

I'll try these out. Doesn't seem it's gonna help much, but maybe it'll at least get the stock into my shoulder better.

OK, now I get it. It's not the lop but the shortness of the front end that you don't like. I can see that if you're used to gripping it further out. We all have our likes and preferences.

I noticed that with my R9 compared to my HW80s and plain jane HW95. And when you get to the HW98s the barrel is about as short as any R9 or HW95.

But I have the R9 in .177 which is a bit lower in velocity than either my HW95 .177 or HW98 .177--the later two rifles have a noticeably snappy velocity compared to the R9.

Yet the R9 to me is a Cadillac of a rifle in all aspects it's advertised to be! The stock is ambidextrous and higher for scope mounting while the HW95 plain has a better open sight view without the scope--The front sight on the HW95 is more a THIN blade than the fat inserts we get with HW's cog sights and post sights (both wide and not as wide).

Yes egd we all have our preferences!
