I live on California's Central coast- the rains we got this winter eased our drought a bit and there are critters galore! I've been busy hunting rabbits and thinning out the ground squirrels on the property where I live.
We've had fog most mornings, but Tuesday was clear and the bunnies were active early (6:30 am) and after a stroll with the head of ranch security (aka Chester the Border Collie)
I headed out with my .22 Marauder. I picked up a brace with a couple of offhand shots around 15 yards.
Next day was foggy and the bunnies seemed especially co-operative so I grabbed my R9 and took a brace with some very close offhand shots.
Fast forward a week or so and another foggy morning-took the R9 for a walk-
Bagged another brace with a couple offhand shots at 20 and 15 yards.
Rabbits are very plentiful right now but I stop at 2 since that's a perfect meal for my family and I don't like cleaning more than 2 at a time. We cook 'em in the crock pot and serve with mashed taters.
Shoot safe,
John
