Always one of those “whiskey tango foxtrot” shots. Blown a bit to the left as you can see.

Average 800 fps with JSB 7.9 and 755 with JSB 8.4. Couple shots in vid using 8.4’s.

txaggie929,

Howdy! Man it’s an accurate springer, one of these days the big three will line up (calm day, 5 uniform pellets straight out the tin and no shakes on my part🤓). I actually have a PelletGage, need to start using it!

Yes, I think it’s backyard friendly. Check out some of the reviews on YouTube to get a feel for the sound it puts out.

JohnnyPiston, I forgot to ask - is this the full power version or the reduced power version?

I got this rifle used, per the last owner it was doing 820fps with H&N FTT 8.64 for 12.9 fpe. It has since received some custom internals (lighterweight piston, modified OEM LGU seal and widened transfer, etc) so its now at 800 fps with JSB 7.9/ 755 fps with 8.4.

If you end up opting for the full power version you can always order a LGU 16J service kit (spring, guide, piston with seal, lubes and steel washer) and voila: reduced power.

Piston seals, left to right: Tony Leach 25mm HW, CustomAirSeals 25mm moly impregnated parachute grooved HW, Walther OEM LGU. The seal not in this picture is a V-Mach Hybrid C-Form 12fpe seal (parachute) which is what's inside this particular rifle now (with Paul Short lightened/glided piston and glided compression tube with enlarged TP. Seal swap from the OEM high friction seal to sized V-Mach seal increased power by about .4 fpe. In due time I'll come back to this project, will likely collapse a coil off the HW spring, tweak preload spacing as well as some other fine adjustments to get it "just right".

Onwards and upwards, always learning.

One of my favorite, most accurate shooters. This LGU simply performs.

Took a shot to create a pellet hole aim point. 5 shot group, seated 40 yards, very mild conditions. Nikon 3-9 set at 9x; the reticle's center dot completely covered the pellet hole aim point and more on all sides. Like holding a large can of crushed tomatoes over a small can of tomato paste.🤔🤓

LGU!

My LGU performs similarly. I have 1" and 2" metal plates hanging in trees with maximum distance to those at 65 yards. Shooting seated over a tall tripod, I can hit the 2" regularly at 65 yards but the 1" gets an occasional miss once past 45. At 40 yards it's shot after shot on the 1" plate shooting 7.33 AA Falcons out of the tin. And at 62 years old with a heart that pounds like a jackhammer and eyes that aren't any longer the clearest, I'm not the most stable shooter any more and I'm sure many could do better. The rifle just gets it done, over and over. The LGV is almost as accurate as the LGU in my hands but for some reason the LGU is a bit more comfortable for me and I shoot it most of the time. Both are excellent rifles and I don't believe a shooter could go wrong with either.

My LGU is stock high power level with transfer port drilled to recommended size. It shoots most pellets very well but the 7.33 Falcons are as accurate as any in mine and give the best overall trajectory to the max distance I usually shoot. It is one of the rifles I reach for first to hit a small target first shot-the HW100 being another. The wood on yours pictured looks especially nice.
