A coupla pests

Here's kind of a funny miss on a sparrow. I drilled it a bit later, but forgot to start the camera. It started out just LAYING down on the ground, eating seeds, then, after I missed, just over its head, and a shower of seeds fell down on it, it kind of said: "What the...!?" and shook it off.


It came back a few minutes later to meet its maker, but I forgot to start the camera:



Today, I was home at lunchtime, and saw this little chipper, who has totally plugged up my one downspout. It's at least the 6th one I've taken in the last couple months:

He took the round in the right cheek; it went in there (exposing the cache of bird seed) then down his neck, through the chest cavity, and out the opposite side:
