A 177 at 88 yards offhand - A ‘magic group‘

I shot off hand all morning on Sunday. A good couple hours at various ranges from 47 to about 70. After doing some yardwork, the wind calmed down in the evening, and I decided to stretch it out a little bit and see what I could do. The first picture is the entire target palate. It’s an old stove, and I apply fresh black paint between sessions. All of the groups are five shots each. I got really lucky on one group. About 7/10 of an inch. So well under MOA. It is definitely a magic group, and also not repeatable in this lifetime.

The weather was nice, fairly calm with some switches that would blow pellets an inch or two off course. I was holding about an inch and a half left of the bolt (I was trying to hit the bolt head). I timed my shots for a left to right condition.

The rifle is a Steyr with a March scope on top set at 50X, standard crosshair eticle, 20 foot pounds, old Crossman premieres from 1999.

I was quite pleased with all of the groups. The tiny one is crazy (still smiling).
