I had the same .177 and .22 in R9 and 95. Then just got a R9 .20 recently. Wow it’s special. Definitely at the top of my list. Very nice choice. Enjoy. Crow
Hopefully the 20 is good as or better than the others in this fps/fpe category. We shall see how the factory gun performs, if not to my liking what kit does everyone recommend?

While not that platform, I bought both ARH and Vortek kits for my custom D34K .20 with respective seals and proceeded to install each and test a lot. Found while I liked the ARH spring kit, there was just something about their seal that seemed off somehow, so I took a chance, swapped it for the Vortek seal and at least in my case, it gave me the feeling I wanted shooting it. Seen any number of other forum members say the same thing.
Your mileage may well vary if it's what you try but you can't go wrong with either kit.
/end of lame 2 cents...lol

Your numbers will vary being new compared to my older R9 .20 with just about 5 tins through it over the chrony but should give you a bit of an idea at least:
Beeman R9 .20 built 2017, factory stock, no mods

H&N FTT 11.42: 753 10 shot avg, FPE 14.38, ES 9, SD 2

H&N Baracuda 13.58: 683 10 shot average, 14.07 FPE, ES 11, SD 4

JSB Exact 13.73: 682fps 10 shot avg, 14.18 FPE, ES 13, SD 4

JSB Heavy 15.89: 631 10 shot average, 14.05 FPE, ES 15, SD 4

I have 177 and a 22 barrel for my HW95. They both shoot so well, I now wish I had just bought two 95s.
Nothing wrong with 20 I suppose, but I don’t want one.
Thing is (to me anyway) .177&.22 i can pretty much just walk in and buy them right now . Them other cal's mailorder only so no in a pinch or just need a extra tin as easy as .177 or .22 . So its a convince thing overall and for less $

Mail order is a moot point for me. I had to mail order to get pretty much everything I have: guns, scopes, rings, parts, so mail ordering pellets just fits right in with all the rest...lol. Price and limited choices in pellets are what throw most off the caliber and I can respect that, I'm just one of those that got hooked on the caliber, knew about both and still bought the guns I have.

I don’t own a r9/hw95 yet but based on all the reviews they seem to be the best all around spring gun. They are always at the top of the list for “if you could only have one springer” threads. I don’t shoot very often and have been considering selling my 2 remaining springers and buying a hw95 in .20 or .177 for my one springer to do it all.

I have a 177 Hw95 and a 20 caliber R9. I love them both. I probably like shooting the 20 caliber a little more because it packs a little more punch. However there's not many pellet choices for 20 caliber. It's basically four domes that are sometimes rebranded so it may seem like more. Pellet availability has been tough lately which also makes it more costly.

If you are only gonna have one springer a 20 caliber R9 /Hw95 is a wonderful choice. Just stock up on pellets once you find out what it likes. The pellets may continue to be made for some time but it is a dwindling niche caliber that may see more supply issues.
If you don't shoot a lot that's not a problem. If you do, you might want to consider 177. At least there, there will be hundreds of different pellets made for the reminder of our lifetime. They will also be more readily available and thus cheaper.

Ron appreciate the advice but I already have a r9 177 and a 95 in 22.complete set in this rifle platform when the 20 arrives.

I'm sorry, my advice wasn't intended for you. I knew you were going to have them in three calibers. My advice was for Luckybuckeye who was considering either a 177 or 20 caliber Hw95 as his one and only does all springer. I quoted him in my post.

Be well
Ron
