HW/Weihrauch 95 field pro, Beech vs Walnut

So I made up my mind to purchase a 95 Field pro in .22 because they don’t offer it in .20,

I have not seen any pictures of the walnut stock yet and it sure looks like the one pictured at AOA under the “walnut” tab looks exactly like the “Beech” rifle.

Anyway could any of you fine people show me some beech and walnut stock pictures

Id just go 95 luxus. . field pro just offered no sights and a scope that you can just buy elsewhere?

If your scope gets rattled or busted your not shooting and buying a scope for moe $ . the regular 95 your still enjoying shooting it on irons wile you wait on a scope .. lol .

Agree I like Iron sights on my guns. More have match grade aperture sights than scopes.

Well that field pro you cant do that . ( If i recall) Nothing drilled in the beech block for factory . Then if you use aftermarket diopter /aperture what are you going yo do up front? The field pro again best i recall not dovetailed to accept thr front sights or hw globe .

At best a reddot or reflex mounted on the tubes scope dovetail.

One of my favorite sayings is " buying a gun without sights is like buying a car without a steering wheel".

Yet folks spend 1000's for that ..

Plus being stranded to scope only on a springer don't make good sense to me .. lol

I called AOA and asked them if they would take a couple/three pictures of the Walnut version and text or email them so I had a choice. They said they would.
Same stock as the regular 95 walnut

The firld pro has a non drilled barrel so no factory sights . ( Id feel shorted )

The package scope probly still a bsa brand made ( 60 bucks at Gamo . com?) .

Then it's your call wether to fuss over oh my i might scratch the walnut or get out there and shoot less worry with beech ( for lot less)

Simple, I would go with the Lexus

Here are three TX200s.
One of which is Beech…
Which one?

I think I’m leaning towards the standard in walnut, not worried about scratches as I buy guns to use them.

Probably won’t ever use the sites but it is nice they are there.

And then I can still get it in .20 which truth be told is the hole reason I started looking in the first place.

I also do not mind a beach stock, all my Diana’s are beach and the .22 48 tO6 is easily one of my favorite rifles. But if push comes to shove I would personally opt for the walnut.

That’s a great idea, and for some reason I never thought about it.

PS I missed out on a silver streak you had on eBay if I remember correctly, sure wish I could have picked it up

I’m not sure what the discussion is about. Here is AOA’s website. Top one is Beech. Bottom Walnut. Both Luxus stocks. Both with sights. $74 difference. It’s a no brained to me. The Walnut version is worth far more in the future as not many were made in comparison. I would not get the “Field Pro” package. The scope is not so good.

I agree with you on the wood. Problem with both stocks is they're way to high to use the supplied sights properly or comfortably. I bought a used 22 Field Pro because i wanted the sightless barrel. The Weihrauch scope was absolute garbage but it did come on good Sportsmatch rings. The barrel is defective so this wasn't my best used purchase.

I agree that the stock is quite high. Uncomfortable for me to use the irons also. Some people say it’s fine. Probably my giant 7 5/8“ helmet. I say helmet because they’re empty! lol

I have a fat head too but there's no way I could use the irons with that Luxus stock. I've tried. They either have very skinny faces and or they're not realizing how much there tilting their heads which is bad form at the very least. I didn't realize how uncomfortable and awkward that HW30 Jetson's stock was to shoot until I got it back from you. BTW I might send you my old poorly refinished 95 base model stock to refinish in case I ever want to shoot one of those with irons again. I shouldn't be allowed to touch wood:D

be well

Just put it in the mail My friend. But the Walnut stock would be easier and come out nicer with a modification If needed.

its just he cheapo basic beech stock. I've stripped it and refinished twice poorly with Minwax spray stain. It doesn't have to be a show stopper. I may ask you to put a set of screw cups in the front holes for me if you can. I bought the cups years a go but don't have the equipment or talent to install them properly.

thanks BOG
