9-24-2022 a good day of airgunning

Been under the weather last few days but this morning I but bowed up, bounced back, and drove to Minor Hill Tn. for a FT match at Dave Slade & Brad Troyers Invicta course.

It's a tough one for sure but I had a blast anyway, great bunch of fellas, like minded airgunners.

Made it back home before 2 just in time to watch the US kick butt at the President's Cup.

Hits the woods late, quarter to 6 ish, snapped a few pics, popped a couple of bogeys - a good day to remember.

@SteveV Sounds like an eventful day and time well spent. Good looking woods and not a bad bag. What type of PCP are your shooting? Which caliber? How far out were your shots on this squirrels?

The gun is a Crosman 2250 type build using a Don Cothran tube, valve, and a Stace breech, JDS Airman drop block adapter, 19.5" Charles Mellon prepped .22 caliber barrel, Gurlieu 4500/2200 reg on a Armortek 15ci/4500 psi bottle, all in a Tom West custom stock. It's pushing 18's a little over 900 and is a tack driver.

Both kills were from approximately 25ish yards from the base of a tall red oak, but WAAAAY up in a dense canopy, cuttin' acorns. You really have to be patient but decisive, and "thread the needle" -

@SteveV I’m not familiar with all of those aftermarket parts, but that sounds like some kind of custom modded Crosman! I get what you mean about the squirrels being wayyy up there. I don’t tend to shoot that far up unless I catch one trying to gather its footing after jumping from one tree to the next. Then I track them waiting for my shot if I can get one. I mostly see them in oaks either running up and down the trunks or jumping from tree to tree. Even still 25 yards up is too far for me to shoot, but my squirrel gun isn’t running 900 fps. That’s some impressing shooting. Hope you get to get out there again soon.

Yeah, well these aren't exactly cutting edge parts, as they pre-date this forum, but they do what they do very well, and if you collect the right parts, used, at the right price, before you know it, you've got enough for a "build." All based on ideas I learned off of forums, and airgun guru airngasman of course!
