880 vs 1100ss

Amongst the fun yesterday; I was able to pit my Daisy 880 against my Winchester 1100SS.
Now I am not sure if it's because I've used an 880 for so long and I haven't gotten but maybe 8 years with springer action(Winchester being my 2nd break barrel rifle) but I was able to hit bottle caps at 50yards with dang near no problem using the 880. The winchester...i could get only to about a 4 inch grouping.
Both slinging the same Benjamin 10.5g HPs.
880 I was using the max 10 pumps.
Wondering if the powerplant has a major role?...🤔
Or just my experience is better with the 880?...
The Winchester has a very long/stiff trigger as well as a major recoil🥴
This test showed me that my $30 multipump .177 "regular" slinger CAN compete with a $100 break barrel .177 "magnum" slinger if they are put in my hands😵‍💫🤔🤷‍♂️🤪🎩🤙

Bottle cap at 50 yds with the 880? Love it, because that is the one I bought a few weeks ago for my very first rifle. It costs more than $30 now...$60 from Walmart. That included the “scope” that I considered so bad after installing and adjusting it that I then de-installed it. I’m used to open sights from my revolver, but I have fired (someone else’s) scoped PB rifle and really, really liked using the scope.

I’ll leave the iron sights on the 880 but someday when (yeah, looking more and more like WHEN instead of IF) I buy another airgun I’ll get a decent scope with it, too. So it’s especially interesting to read comparisons between what was apparently many kids’ inexpensive first gun and what they used later.

The first time I used the 880, it felt like I was a kid again—it was so much fun!. Your posts reveal you kept that sense of discovery and fun alive in your shooting and share it with others. Congrats on introducing your lady to the fun, and thank you for posting.

Let me guess Winchester 1100 SS= 1100 SuperSport!

For a scope, try the Winchester 4x32AO that Pyramyd Air carries. That's what I'm mounting on my new Crosman next time it rains.
