78 Cu Ft Tank Saddle - Fun to make & very functional

Over the weekend, I made two sets of tank saddles for new 7" Air Venturi 78 Cubic Inch fill tanks. They were fun to make, using plywood, glue to make my own laminate from the plywood, and for each set; three 12" sections of 5/16" all thread, 6 standard 5/16" nuts, 6, 5/16" elastic lock nuts, and 12 5/1/6" flat washers.

I used a compass set to trace a 7 1/4" circle and cut it out with a Dewalt hand scroll saw. Then I used my radial miter saw to split the circles and trim the bases to the desired height and width. Finished on the belt sander and used some left over cabinet stain to finish it off.

Finally, I fitted the tanks with the Air Venturi tank protection netting and velcro handle straps available from Pyramid Air - attaching the tank to the all thread with micro flex straps. It may look a little crude but works terrific.
