4140 is perfect, especially if you harden it and then temper it back a bit.

A2, M2, 01, and W1 I can get in the correct diameter for the pin. Or I can just straighten the bent one, AEA says they don't have the pin for replacement.

You can probably find a hardened pin on Amazon if you know the diameter.

I found hardened m2 pins 2mm in diameter, trying to find 4140. I was going to try and get a friend with a knife furnace to do it but if I can buy it pre-made that's way easier. Do you think m2 is acceptable? Thanks a lot for your help!

I found 17-4PH or M2 hardened. The pin is 2mm but the hole is just over 3mm, no wonder the pin bent, it's too small for the hole.

Can you get a hardened 3mm pin and use green loctite to set it?

I'm going to try lol. I'm making a transfer port out of aluminum by hand, then pinning it in place with one of these new 3mm pins. Should take me about weeks to make the port using files and drills. thank you for the help.
