62gr Varmint Knockers (.30 cal, BHN-7)

For anyone looking for a good .30 cal hunting slug, I would highly suggest trying out some of Dale Riggert's 62 grain VKs. He can make them in a harder format than his traditional lead slugs (BHN-7). 

They buck the wind VERY well, about as close as the older hand-made 66 grain NSAs. When I had last shot them with my MKII using my LabRadar, the 10y BC was 0.16 - 0.17 (somewhere between 905-920fps) and 0.15 - 0.16 with my R5 long (850-860fps).

The expansion is pretty insane. Here's two that I shot through 1.5" duct seal that I had in front of a bucket of rubber mulch:

I have yet to have a coyote in my sights with one of these racked, but I'm hoping to have the opportunity when I go hunting further east!

Yeah, these will carry a bit more energy
downrange flattet than just about anything else that I've tested in the 50-70gr range. Anxious to hunt with them in my Raptor. Patience is wearing thin with this virus situation and an injury that I sustained recently

I have some and if I ever get a break, I’m going to check them out of my rainstorm.30. It will shoot a bbt 66.8 @ 900 ish so I’m hoping I can get a mags worth at decent speed with the 62 grain. I’ve used his .25 stuff with great success, and I have high hopes out of these. Nice to see the expansion you got with these
