50 caliber pyramidair talk to me

You might take a pass on the .50 and consider either the .48 or .9mm/.357. You will not see 800fps from the .50 with the stated ammo.
No natter the model - Korean - you will get FEW shots. The 909 twin tube .45 ( has many names now) IS very easy to work on if you are a DIY type, the most common used Korean tuner gets something near $230.00 to tune them up and you could do the work at home in one hour first try ( IF you are a DIY type). Mainly open the front og the valve body and open the transfer prot into the barrel ( air enters rear of barrel and your drilling the "receiver") .

.45 has LOTs more ammo choices, shoots flatter but it is your call.

I might mention that the current triggers ( the for years they came with a completely unsafe trigger ) is H E A V Y and not all that smooth.

If you had the money to spend a DAQ is miles ahead and even in .50 ( .458 and .308 being more common ) will hit 800fps.

How close is the nearest airgun club to you? You just might find someone who owns one, And naturally you've looked at the member map? And your on the member map?

A month or two ago I had a .45 you could have test fired ( and then ourchased ) and I am sure anyone with one near you would be ever so happy to let your fire theirs.

edit:
you might want to post in the "PCP" section as well as reading in that section, lot's of good information.

I don't know, I'm near ft. Bragg army base outside of Fayetteville, NC and only used wife rifles as a kid them bought a 1200 fps .177 gamo since my dad lives in the city I couldn't use my 22 mag that blowes the squirrels invading his pecan trees but that pellet gun quit working so I got rid of it. I was a amazed at pyramid air that they have ,50 caliber that you can kill deer sized animals. I live on my family owned large horse boarding farm and I don't want to shoot long range rifle cartridges since so many horse farms down our road and shotgun makes way too much noise so I want a powerful airgun to kill racoon coyote dogs feral cats without causing a stampede.I don't want to buy a new $600 one when I can buy a nice AR15 for that so I am looking for any miltishot airgun that can kill the animals listed without wounding and making much noise. If anyone is in my area here in NC or in southeast GA where I spend ten days a month where I was born and raised that would be willing to let me shoot their gun that would suit my needs I would replace your pellets. Please post pics and info of other guns I should try that are more affordable.

Here's an unpleasant truth-good airguns are not cheap to buy! (you can write this down) They are far cheaper to shoot than PBs (once you have the fill equipment!) however.
$600 is about low-medium for a quality PCP if you're buying new.
If you're concerned about the range of your projectile a diabolo style pellet will lose energy and drop far more quickly than a cast slug, whether the slug is pushed by air or powder. The diabolo style pellet has a much lower BC than a slug, so it's effective range is reduced. There are a few .30 pellet shooting rifles out there, but they're $600+ and you'll need a handpump or other way of filling. For up to raccoon the Benjamin Marauder in .25 would be great-there are folks who take coyote with them, but I don't think I would try it.
For a .30 cal you might look at the Hatsan Carnivore (It's big and heavy) and comes in .30 or .357. Check out the hunting forum and see what BWalton is doing with them.

I sent you a PM. I live in Burgaw about 1.5 hrs away from Fayetteville. You are welcome to come shoot my airguns and get a feel for things. Takes a lot of air to keep these big bores running ;-)
I prefer target practice, so low shot count on the big bores keep me at bay. But I do have an older model 50 cal Dragon Slayer that gets 9 or 10 shots on a fill with an avg 160 FPE using 180 grain round balls. You're welcome to come shoot it and my .25 cal Cricket rifle as well. Also have a .22 FX 400 and a .177 Cricket.

About the only big bore that would interest me is the 30 cal FX Boss and that's because it has a pretty high shot count for a 30 cal at 40 shots on a fill.

Well there you go, nothing better than trying an airgun or two or ..... in person!
If you rule out Deer - may or may not be legal in your location so please do check , TN just outlawed airguns for large game last year, boo - even a .177 does what you want.
A marauder ( Benjamin) in any cal. will take small game out to 50 yards , a .25 would take a deer/hog but shot placement is everything and again, check the laws.
You could get say a marauder .25 ( more than needed for most things) and a hand pump for under $600.00 there after it's just the low cost of pellets.
ANYTHING shooting solids ( .45 ammo, solid .25 slugs, ...) will need a solid 1,000 yard backdrop to be safe. Shooting standard diablo pellets though will give you the safety needed for firing up at squirrels & such.
Many many hogs and in some other countries MUCH larger animals have been taken humainly with well placed shots using .25 pellets.

Take your $600 AR and $200 tax stamp & paper work then hand load all your ammo and you still will not have the many advantages an airgun offers. Sometimes less is better.

DO make the drive to shoot others airguns, I'll bet your sold on the very first shot, then it's just a matter of desiding exactly what you truly need/want.
