I wanted to know how far that air bolt would penatrate a doug fir bone dry block of firewood. Shot from .50 cal Airforce Texan at about 30 yards.

That .50" Dia. Alum bore centering head, whatever it's called, did some serious damage to the chunck of firewood. I don't think I'll replace my ax with air bolts though. I cut away to investigate. Impressive no doubt.

These arrows are pretty much a one shot arrow. They are almost impossible to remove from high density targets and the O'Ring is always damaged, still fun to shopt....now and then.

@JOERM If you shoot into some firewood and I think your concern should be on breaking (or not breaking) the shaft of your bolt. They are aluminum wrapped in carbon fiber if I’m not mistaken.

At which velocities does your Dragon Claw shoot air bolts? I don’t believe they are designed to be shot one time at $20 a pop. To preserve your o-rings apply a little o-ring silicone oil/grease to them before shooting. A thin layer will do every so often. You don’t want to shoot them dry. You may lose them that way.

The Claw .50/airbolt combination is a fantastic hunter.

I used to get a flat string of 6 shots at low power with a 160gr head of just shy of 400 fps ( phenomenal !!! )

Will blow through any anymal in North America with ease,....need to build a smart Target/Backstop and you will be able to shoot and retrieve the bolts easily and forever.
