OK
I am always wanting another gun. I have a 48 in 22 that's nice but selling it to get another FT gun. How many of you used a 48 in 177 for FT? I am tempted to try it with a 12fpe vortex kit. I know everyone will sau get a 97,tx. I have 2 txs and wanting something different. I do have 20cal 98 on order, well preorder from AoA. Thanks
For your time.

I can't say how well it will do at 12fpe but at 15fpe my .177 48 will keep up with the pack well. The 48/52 are very nice guns and you should definitely add one to your collection
Well I don't necessarily need to be 12fpe. I was just going to get drooper mount and see how it does. I would try the bullseye mount but I think a solid mount with stops would be fine. Might use Dnt06 mount who knows. A 54 would be nice also. Lol

They're all nice thats why we keep wanting more 😆

At 15fpe you don't really need a bullseye mount. The 48 is pretty snappy but a good scope will handle it especially with a decent tune. I'd just recommend a scope with a no hassle warranty. Athlon, Vortex, Hawk, etc all have great warrantees with fast turn around times.

I had a beautiful 52 that I tuned using a Vortek PG 3 kit that was a really accurate rifle. Even at +|- 15 fpe it would shoot consist.375 to .5 groups at 25 yards. I used Sportsmatch vertically adjustable mounts with one stop pin and a Hawke Airmax 6-24 (original AirMax) with absolutely no issues.

The spring kit really tamed it.

i used one for a year at the GOB and scored as well as I am able. Which is to say if handed to a great shooter could have taken 1st. JM kit at about 15fpe , T01 trigger.
Do make sure to Jewel the compression chamber. Might not help your score but looks great!

No reason at all it work work well. Very solid rig that will Not change a bit from day to day.

WIth mass enough to effectively suppress the violent mechanical chain of events occurring when One trips the trigger of a(ny) springer, no reason a D48 wouldn't be a good platform for FT; especially de-tuned to 12-15 FP. But was I pursuing such an "untraditional" platform for competition purposes (something I've never been know to do:ROFLMAO:), and given my over-developed aesthetic sensibilities , I'd probably achieve better results employing that (particular) platform with a couple shooting aids/accessories.

Specifically, blinders and a clothes-pin.

Not to suggest the D48 fugly...🙄, or odiferous.🤢

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

And also a relative term!
