45 cal options

Promise it’s my last post in big bore section as I’ve been hogging up posting space with all my inquiries. From valuable feedback from big bore members I saw the merits of going to 45 instead of 357. Yes I know shot placement is key and supersedes power. But I’ll start there and down the road maybe drop down to 357 if the situation calls for it. Anyway, I want shorter gun, multi shot , and hopefully reasonable loudness with the hammer ping. I see 3 candidates

AAA Trex bullpup 452

Benjamin pitbull 457

AEA challenger 45

are there others? I know Airforce makes great guns but I’m not into the single shot set up . Thanks

The Benji Bulldog 457 is going to be down on power a little, I'm waiting to see what Pitbull can do with them. That said, I do not like the "magazine" and really wish they had gone with .452 for 45acp sized ammo (and vast selection). This coming from a Bulldog 357 owner, I have really mixed feelings about the 457.

Lots of people happy with their challengers, I don't own one so no personal experience. The HP SS is kind of cool and might be worth looking into.

The Trex is cool, but what kind of wait time will you have, are they in stock?

Hatsan Piledriver, some people have had good luck with it. Umarex Hammer, but buy a used one that shoots good and pay reduced price because no warranty for second hand guns. Both of these are 50 cal, so even more power. If you can get over the single feed, there was an Airforce Texan LSS CF 50 cal in the for sale section that I almost bought, had a good price for everything you were getting. Big power with the LSS and CF tank and valve.

Unless you have a very big yard, I would not suggest shooting any big bore there. I would need to have a forest behind me and probably several acres of land to even think about it. Big bores generally carry big power, at least almost every new model in the last 3+ years. If you wouldn't shoot a firearm in your yard, then you shouldn't shoot a big bore airgun in your yard. Just my opinion.

Inuits hunt with anything from 22LR on Karibu and above. Theres no trees and they dont mind to track.

Apart from that my humble 2 cents: Bigger is way better as even a half decent shot will be fatal, compared to a low power shot that relies on perfect shot placement. And dont get me started on Mh. HP, i want a hole though and through so blood spills out for tracking. Who needs an expanding bullet that will leave a pinky sized hole through the animal in the first place? Skin on the entry side contracting for next to blood loss and relying on internal bleeding as a sole means of a fast kill? No thanks, let the hydraulics run of and the animal is dead in seconds.

What FPE range you looking at ? Evanix makes the MAX-ML bullpup but it's only 200 FPE

Ping and sound can be fixed easily.
