I am one for putting out there who screwed up so that they put future thought into not screwing up and are held accountable in at least the internet consumer's court of opinion. Especially, repeat offenders! My worst shipping company nightmares always have occurred with one shipping company, FedEx Ground. If I have any control or choice in who ships me something they are a non-starter. Ironically, FedEx Overnight is the best shipping company (albeit expensive) so you know that they are capable at doing it right, they just don't feel like it at ground level. Name names Yo. Unless we all shine a light on this stuff it stays in the dark.

Well, there's only 3 major shippers in the USA and all 3 could have done it. None of them are all that good. I've had problems with all of them at one time or another.

I am Not talking about standard problems or delays, yes, everyone can have those. I am talking about non-deliveries, off-site deliveries, and packages that are so abused that they look like they were handled by Jim Carrey in the beginning of Ace Ventura Pet Detective. On my street, neighbors have to put up signs by their mailboxes for FedEx to actually deliver packages (Chewy Pet Food) to their houses, -like they are suppose to, it's home delivery, not street. My sister works for the USPS and she flips out when I tell her FedEx left a package in my mailbox, which is a Federal crime by the way, and these FedEx Ground drivers are well aware of that and do it anyway. No other shipping company even comes close to being as bad. Amazon's delivery fleet just started in my area, with complete newbies driving around, and they are doing awesome. I have actually asked a FedEx Ground driver why they are so bad sometimes and I actually got an answer. This guy told me that their division (Ground) doesn't get treated fairly as compared to the overnight division so they quite literally have no interest in trying as hard. Nice to know, that's why I specifically try to avoid them. It could be just my local hub that is bad, I just know that it is the undisputed worst in my area; which is south central NH if someone from FedEx happens to read this.

I've had packages lost, damaged and even opened by all 3. Sometimes FedEx will not even come out to my house for over a week because I live in a rural area.

The only time that messing with a residential mailbox is a Federal crime is when it actually contains items of mail, otherwise it is merely property comparable to a dog house or flower pot.

Tearing one up or off of its mounting is vandalism or criminal damaging. Putting something in one for your neighbor to receive is not a crime.

Physically blocking a carrier from delivering mail is a Federal crime, so perhaps filling a mailbox full of pellets so that the carrier can't deliver your coupon books and lawn service flyers might land one in Dutch with the Fed?

The big blue ones on corners are Federal property.
