You might need to quit shooting paper for a while and concentrate on hunting. Definitely your sorting is not "needed" for hunting.

Looks like about 23 sorted tins. Just curious about the time investment and payoff. I also see you have a sizer. Are they all sized as well? Has sizing or sorting made the bigger difference?

Shooting by weight you may find your vertical dispersion will be less, velocity spread should be less. But these are also affected by head diameter and how well the skirt seals. Good luck. I try and avoid these trials by shooting for fun but mostly I shoot for fun by pesting squirrels, raccoons, and a few rabbits that annoy our neighborhood.

Been there, done that. I'd say there's something therapeutic about it, but I'd be lying!

If it makes you happy and your not hurting anyone, go for it. My only question is... do you have to resite your scope in for every tin of pellets?
Could you do a 50 yard test and show a pic of your results. I would like to see two "10" shot group at 50 yards. One with a tin of your 33.2 gr and one with your tin of 34.6 gr sorted pellets. This seems to be the biggest spread that i can see in your picture.
Also to note. That is a very big difference in weight for the same pellet and possibly in the same tin.

Not everyone hunts. And 1 flier out of 100 shots would be lots better than 1 flier out of 10 shots.
If the OP is miserable while doing this then I'd say maybe don't do that. If the OP finds it fills some time and helps him in any noticeable way then I'd say by all means do it.

Sure enough. You've lost it. Completely round the bend. Recognize the symptoms from my own affliction. I finally gave up and only sort when competing. Don't know that it helps me compete though. Its a psychological thing. If I THINK it might help it gets tried. Granted, sometimes at night when no one can watch and laugh. Lets face it. We're all nuts to some extent or another. Think back to all the activities you have been passionate about up to this time. Has any of them been so totally consuming, time and financally as air guning? Heck, I didn't even spend this much time and $ pursuing my wife! Has anyone tried sacrificing a chicken yet. Wonder if that would help. I read somewhere that..... sylvan
