357 ammo choices

newbie garnering information. I have seen obviously JSB 81 g pellets , predator polymags as well . Nosler ballistic rounds which cost a chunk. I'm sure NSA has some stuff and Aeromagnum also has some slugs , lastly , air venturi has some stuff . what is the consensus of this line up of ammo in regards to a pimped out bulldog or an ataman MR2?

what your doing with it i would think would be the deciding factor .. ive only shot fx and polymags in mine with no discernable difference out to 55 or so .. its got that minute of squirrel thing going on lol .. but not a tack driver .. the 80ish grain pellets hit dam hard to me .. if i was stand or blind hunting something big id probably spring for the nizzlers lol .. not gonna be plinking with 1$ per round pellets i can tell ya that ...

I would test out some NSAs myself in different diameters and weights. I have not read much love coming from the others listed. In fact, mostly opposite of that. Also, you might be interested in learning to cast your own using the NOE molds. That's what I do with my .357 using a 152gr slug. Not sure if you can push that weight or not, but you might find one you can push. They pay for themselves pretty quick if plinking/hunting a lot.

I would look into cowboy bullet casters. They use a fairly soft lead and are usually way cheaper than stuff made specifically for airguns.

I just picked up 1000 Hi-Tek coated 125 grain for under 8 cents each. The shoot a ragged hole at my little 30Yd. home range. I'm gonna see how the do at a

100Yd at the range this weekend. The 168 grain HP slug that shoots well in my gun is 45 cents each, so i took a gamble with these to try and get some plinker ammo.

In case you want to hurl some slugs downrange instead of pellets. But if you do go this route, I recommend casting with 99.9% pure lead and getting the mold in brass instead of aluminum. This looks like a great slug.

I’ve gotten some nice slugs from Pro Slugs, but now I’m going to try my hand at casting my own , in 105gr. and 158gr.
