35 Cal FX impact uses

Not looking at one now, but I was looking at one earlier. I am going with a different gun, but here's what I learned this weekend. I put my .30 cal barrel on my Leshiy and was shooting in my yard 25-40 yards. To use at closer ranges and for safety, I turned the power down which resulted in a loopy trajectory. Now, you have to figure holdover AND wind. IF you are shooting a one fixed distance, like to a feeder, it might be fine, once you figure the holdover, you're good to go. For variable distances-not worth it to me.

I switched my Leshiy back to .22 today and called my dealer and switched my pre-order to .22 as well. Depending on the distance and sized of the game .22 and .25 are the sweet spots. When I told my dealer I was changing to a smaller caliber, he said a .30 airgun should only be shot where it's safe to shoot a .223 powder burner, and I would agree. The .30 and .35 are strictly long range guns with safely restrictions similar to a powder burning gun.

I did not go with the .25 because I have 2 other guns in that caliber already.

Not tied in to the impact, but the caliber. When Hatsan came out with the Hercules Bully in a 35 cal, yeah, it was popular. But the few I know who have it all say it’s not a tuning or target friendly caliber, as the ammo is costly.

Sure enough, the few Bully’s ive seen sold off have always been 35 cal and up. Reasons have always been in so many words-“going a different route, that’s why I’m selling”.

Just in my 30 cal it took me awhile to get away from being stingy with pellets, as the Vortex pellets on sale aren’t that bad, and allow me to freely shoot at targets worry free. One can easily go thru a tin of 150 shooting thru a chronograph.

in my 5 acres I easily have a straight run to shoot 150 yards, but even with that, I have to be mindful of where the barrel is pointed. I agree with that statement above, about the likeness of a 30 cal to a .223, which is why I shoot my 25 cal more often.

I would wait for the first batch of Impact 35 cal to be delivered and put in use by others first before i would consider ordering it. Given the length of the FX Impact's breech/magazine opening, let's see what pellets can be loaded and shot out of the Impact 35 cal. The JSB 35 81gr is the shortest pellet in the 35 cal range, and i hope it will at least load those properly at the very least. Whether it will load the other 35 cal pellets like the 35 Polymags, or 97.5g Morrill Pellets or other lengthier/heavier pellets remains to be seen.

I have only seen the FX Impact 35 cal with an image beside a box of customized FX 35 cal pellets. If pellet selections that can be loaded into the Impact 35 cal magazine is going to be very limited, it would be a deal breaker for me.

Up to 140 grain NSA slugs should be fine from a single or multi shot loading tray.

Well I dont think there will be energy to push anything even close to 140gr anyways. Unless ppl are happy with 700fps and mortar like trajectory. Something is shouting out that its only usable with pellets and possible ultra light ratsniper slugs.

My gun is modified and I believe I can get close to 900. I design and make my own parts.

If you can get 250ftlb out from 35cal Impact with 54cc plenum that would be super impressive and performance wise out from this planet. Im super worried about structural strenght of Impact even at 150ftlb they promote 35cal will be especially that pellet probe hold by small screw and I honestly think 250ftlb would defo blow something up.

I've been shooting it in .30 at 132 ft/lb (150 bar) for quit a while. The probe is reinforced with a 1/8" pin and a 4mm screw at the moment but I will redesign and make those parts stronger along with the B19 reloading bar and associated parts. My current plenum volume is 90cc.

I may not reach my goal but I will try.
