After I saw his video, I took a look at my bobcat mk1, which lies in parts, and compared it to my mk2 wildcat, both in .177. I have no plans changing barrels on them, but wanted to check out of curiosity. It seems it will not work on those 2 particular guns, as the hole in the breach for the barrel is smaller on the bobcat, and the metal part of the x-barrel has to big diameter to fit into the bobcat. But since he make the change on a boss, which has basically the same block as a royal, and bobcat, I would guess it will work on the bigger caliber guns, but maybe not all calibers?

I ordered one of the x barrel upgrades for the Impact from AoA. After weeks of waiting, I called and they said FX hadn't delivered any in .25 for months and might be many more months before shipping. I believe they had some in .22, but .25 was back ordered. Standard problems with the FX supply chain, the product just didn't come in. If you order the .25, be prepared to wait.

I called UAG and explained exactly what I wanted. They had a couple upgrade barrels in .25 in stock, and I had the barrel 3 days later. Installation on the Impact consisted of unscrewing the shroud, removing the original barrel, screwing the shroud onto the new barrel, adding a touch of silicone grease to the O-rings to help them seat, and installing the new barrel into the gun.

Impact owners do be aware - the barrel retention screw is replaced with an M6 1.0 6mm grub or set screw. You'll need to purchase one of those separately. The little dimple in the barrel for the original screw isn't on the new barrel. I like this better as that screw always loosened up on me.

Haven't shot it yet, just got 90+ year old father out of hospital and into Rehab. Get him home tomorrow, so no shooting for a while. Just won't have time for a while.

Chuck, hope you are right, and the barrels come in as they should, but, FX has a long reputation for not delivering parts. Sometimes you just need to call around and see who happens to have the part in stock, and I gut lucky with UAG.

I wonder if that's one of the problems with the Dreamline. We should be able to order those shortly, but haven't heard a peep. For FX USA to keep the parts on hand for that many variations of the gun is a procurement nightmare. Let's hope they've got their distribution system up and running better than ever before.

I bought my Impact from AoA, I have no issues with them, just that FX didn't deliver, so they couldn't. Kinda hard to deliver what they don't have. They treated me extremely well through the Impact purchase and the barrel debacle. Would buy from them in a heartbeat. UAG treated just as well, so will enjoy the 45 minute drive to their showroom when it's up and running. Someday, I'll make it to Gilbert and drop in on AoA. All good folks, which is something I like about this hobby. People in it love it.

Noticed a possible problem with the new X Barrel mating to the old shroud. The .25 barrel seems to be a couple millimeters shorter than the old standard STX barrel. So, when you screw the shroud on, it contacts the Valve control knob, and you can't turn the knob.

I should be able to test shoot this weekend. 93 year old Father was in the hospital, back home now, so getting a little break to shoot. with luck, both sons available to shoot on Saturday.

Edit: - mating to an Impact shroud just to be clear
