31.9 RBT RS slugs at 800fps

I was told to run slugs at 900 or faster. Well, I have them at 800fps & hitting dead on at 175 yards with a 60 yard zero. 8x 8.8 mil holdover.

No, they won’t expand as well but 25 ft lbs exploded it on rock. What’s 7 more ftlbs? The way I have the .25 Supermagnum set I can go with 20 grain H&N FTT’s to 25.43 to 34.95 & 31.9 slug RBT’s. Someone needs to make 28-32 grain RBT .25’s as I’d buy 1K and be good for years if not life as most of my shooting is still Kings & 34.95’s

I would if it would help you but only about 31 came with 2nd hand rifle to try. I turned the hammer spring down a good bit & that’s that.

Thus my comment of a niche needs to be filled badly. I don’t need huge heavy air eating slugs in a .25. I want aerodynamic RBT 28-32 grain. Heck ANY RBT’s I’d try. Even cupped dish base. But flat base available in HP & heavy. I’m shooting paper at long range for the heck of judging wind. I don’t need HP’s.

Guy at flea market with tons of stuff from guys who died over the years in his clubs. I mean tons. I’m looking for .25 ACP 2 slug mold or .257. A Lyman swaging press, $40.00 He’s telling me I should be using wheel weights & doesn’t believe an air gun can hit a 6” rock easily at 175 yards. Yeah, Im desperate enough to invest & start casting my own.

Im gonna try VK & Nielsen but again, no lighter weight .25’s & no RBT’s. Rat Sniper, get them flowing again man! You’d have an order from me for sure.

That’s 1624 psi or close to that. If those are accurate and your good with the speed seems you should get good shot count with that. I tried the rbt in my armada and didn’t have good luck in the accuracy department in the green mountain barrel. Bummed because they have good bc, but glad I’ve got the varmint knockers. That’s my go to for bullets in that gun for long range accuracy.

Do you know your barrel twist rate?.

Yeah, 1:16” RH 23.75” LW with .246” lands & .251 grooves factory spec but it’s leaded up & I’m sure shallower grooves by now.

It’s a run for Ed’s Supermagnum’s, #234 of 407. Shoots great. Engineering is smart. Machined very well. The stock needed to be bedded, obvious felt play in it. It needs to be finished as pores aren’t filled in. I honestly bought this as spec sheet said 28” LW. On the .30’s yes but no separate spec sheet ever said .25 had a 23.75”.

It’s accurate & can get 56 shots with 34.95’s at 900 on a 3600 psi fill, OEM reg. Being it’s set at 112 I see no need for a Huma “Upgrade.” But I sure do wish it had that 28” barrel as I turned HST down and what’s a now easy pull would still be netting 900 with 34.95’s. BC drops past 850-880 FPS most of the time. You can have more at muzzle but less down range. At 175 yards I was hitting a rock in field 60 yard zero 8.8 mils on 8x with 24.9 ftlb. I’d have less drop, 7 more ft lbs, less shots. Paper doesn’t care.
