31.12 oz large male grounder - biggest of the year

63 yard shot. Added the fur to my collection to make an hunting Pancho for deer and elk season. Getting about 4 grounders a day that are large enough to skin. 90% female, the big males are much more cautions and are longer shots. You can hear my son watching the shot FFV with my phone. he loves it, recommend for the little ones to enjoy hunting that are too small to handle the guns in the field. They enjoy being involved and immersed in it.

Nice job on the ground hogs, I’d love to see the poncho when you are done. You’ll look like a true mountain man lol. It’s so good to get kids out and around guns and hunting. Good for you.

I think that's a ground squirrel, not a ground hog. I have 10 pound groundhogs on my property routinely, so I'm pretty certain the OP was referring to ground squirrels.
