.30cal Hunt

The day started @ 4am.... Then plan was for me and Napoleon to pest some permissions during the day, then move to the chicken farm in the evening. We did good on the GS during the day time, which is good because we had plan on hunting for Yotes only at the chicken farm. Well we arrived at the chicken farm at the same time as Dale (Drig) did. He quickly updated me about the layout and gave me a brief tour.

I then picked out a spot that I thought would give me the best advantage point. I did set up around 730pm along with a very friendly Ground Squirrel that came and sat within a arms length from me. He just sat there and ate besides me, at that point I made a pledge to that when I ever come to this site I will not be the one that takes a shot at you. He was a good GS

After a while I soon figured out that this Yote at night wait, and cant see thing is not for me..I cant sit still for too long...I quickly abandoned the Yote hunt and left Napoleon out there with his caller... I went and joined Dale at the Rat battle ground, now here's some action

My night vision is not complete as of yet, so Dale let me borrow a green light, I have the bullpup .22cal zeroed at 12 yards or so.. I did not walk around like Dale did with the shot gun, instead I stayed put, and quite, so when they ran in my direction I took aim looking thru the scope and picking them off. Then I would turn the light back off and repeat the scenario.

Dale also put me on the spot with the owner. I was a ways off walking to the car, when Dale signaled me to come over where him and the owner were. Dale points out a Rabbit 100yards away with 12mph wind blowing and told the owner which this

Now I have a rifle that I just tuned for a person, first time out with it, was I sweating bricks? Nope

I gave them what they wanted

I could not take video of the rats this time, next time I will be well prepared.
