I have finally found enough stores to shop at so I can get a 580cc bottle, 700mm barrel and a slug liner. Finally all of them are in stock and on the way to upgrade Thumper

Thumper has enough air 'n flow to toss a 44.75gr JSB at 1000fps w/ the reg set at 155b and power wheel on max.

I had to turn it way down to get any accuracy from the JSB beyond 50yds. This is 5 shots at 85yds and 110b w/ an 880fps.

But now I'm moving into slugs and another 100mm of barrel.

Wondering if I could get some advise from you folks that have already been here what slugs I should order up and what speeds I should set the gun to for best accuracy.

Thanks in advance.

The old 66gn fits ok in the High Capacity Mag .30 100% sure, measuring 0.426 or 10.86mm, so less than that will fit for sure. (I do not have a special mag jaja)

I made all this before NSA start making the .30 cal with the speed machine, I have not tested the new ones on the magazine. Before that lower weight use to have a different shape, like this ones https://nielsenspecialtyammo.com/collections/30-cal/products/55-gr-dimple-nose-175-slugs-30-caliber-nsa and they where not as accurate as the 66gn in my tj barrel (did not test it on the stx slug liner .30) maybe the new ones works good (I have not tested). But I remember Ernest Rowe testing the 66gn over the slug liner and he said it was the best accuracy on .30 (so far) https://www.instagram.com/p/B5tNQyqBqrb/

Now nick have a .30 sample pack, good for testing

in .30 I was looking the max FPE for wildboar hunting (those buggers are real hard) . Will all depend on your goals.

I read somewhere this are good https://nielsenspecialtyammo.com/collections/30-cal/products/47-2-grain-200-count-300-slug-nsa (do not remember where)

Alright, I think I got the barrel sorted out. Pretty easy once you find the right video...

I set it up w/ chrony and a 75yd target. Hit the trap on the first shot. Yeah!

W/ the 65.5gr I got it up to 850fps & 150b on the reg. W/ the 61.5gr it's at 900fps w/ 140b on the reg. 110fpe. Honestly, I thought the gun had more ass than that.

Looking at the pellet probe, it's not quite all the way into my mark from when I timed it. I think I need to pull the probe out and examine it w/ this barrel and see if it's timed perfectly, then re-time it.

It's too darn cold out there to be fiddling for too long, ran a couple mags of each and had to go inside and warm up. I think I'm on a good track here, but it needs a LOT more tuning

Now that I've timed the probe to barrel better, I'm shooting a 61.5 gr at 930fps on 150b with some dime sized 5 shot groups at 85yds. And it's a windy day too. These slugs seem to buck the wind better than the pellets.

My only downside is that I fill with a scuba tank, so even on a fresh tank I just barely get 250b, I'm down to 200b on the tank now.

Looks like if I could get a full fill, I could run a complete mag at these power levels, as it is, I'm getting 2/3s or 3/4s the way thru it.

Have to tell myself to stop buying stuff and get a CF tank. That darn Great White is calling me...
