.30 Panthera 145fpe 65 and 90 yards

Took this buck with a .30 maverick at 50 yds with a head shot, but pretty confident a double lung with slugs at 140 fpe will do it. The heavier NSA slugs have enough expansion without over expanding and loosing all of your penetration like a ZAN would

Nice buck! I plan on doing the same with my maverick at some point. Got my gun maxing around 155 FPE right now. It will shoot sub moa near that energy also.

I guess accuracy is relative to purpose. I think hybrids might do MOA out of this gun, but I would rather have 2 MOA with the Nielsen 65.5 as that is plenty accurate for heart/lung shots on medium game. That being said of course I want to to get the most out of what the platform can offer and don’t mind spending time trying to improve on my results. I do enjoy shooting for purely the pursuit of accuracy, and there is really nothing that much fun about shooting a 1.5 to 2 MOA gun since it is easy to out shoot that level of accuracy on a bench. Since this is a new platform, the impact with the same
Liner would be the next closest comparison there is a decent amount of data on, and I have not seen anyone getting better accuracy consistently at 140 fpe plus on that platform, not saying it’s not being done though, and if somebody is shooting consistently at MOA at 140 fpe than that is a reasonable goal for me to strive for.

While I have not shot my 30 barrel but fairly confident you can get Nielsen to shoot at MOA or better, NSA ammo has the highest quality and consistency of any ammo I’ve tried especially at their price!

What slug/liner are you using?
Using the superior heavy slug liner, carbon sleeve epoxied in place, bullet central tensioner, and black arts barrel band. To be honest most every slug shoots pretty good from this barrel. But the AVS slugs from 75 grain to 85 grain give me max FPE while also being very accurate. You will have to single load them though.

For reference this may be my best 5 shot group with the 80 grain slugs.

I normally measure group size center to center and that group would be 0.15 if measured C2C!
Yes basically lol. I posted it on the one hole group challenge. Believe this was at near 150 FPE. Maybe not as high as I have reached yet but the potential is there. So sub moa groups are possible at high power but it may be a projectile lottery.

Clearly, 1/2 MOA at 150 FPE is achievable!
I could just be lucky as well who knows. Clover leaf type groups are super common at 50 yards too. But I have an odd approach to "Tuning". I try to find the gun's absolute limit for power and then fit the right projectile to that level. I do the same thing with my Avenger also.

The 75 fits the Panthera mag. I have some on order supposed to get here tomorrow. 70 and 75.

What speeds are you shouting those Avs at? I assume 80 was the most accurate weight for you?

Shooting them at around 925-935 on average. I haven't done enough extensive testing to determine if they are "most accurate".Honestly at 50 yards and under almost all the slugs I have are pretty good. Every AVS slug I have shot so far did well. Varmint knocker 62 grains shoot good. Griffin slugs do well also. I haven't declared a true winner yet as I have been needing to work on my gun since adding all that power. Honestly I think I have about 20-30 different .30 cal slugs to really test out.

Got the AVS slugs today it was a night and day difference from what I was getting with NSA. Wind died before sunset with time to shoot 1 group .12 inches CTC with AVS 75 grain at 940 fps at 41 yards. No wind tomorrow morning and I will probably go through all the slugs I bought for testing. Can’t wait to see how consistent they shoot. I did not even get a group this small at 18 yards with the other ammo I was shooting.
