.30 EDgun Super Long & NSA

Got to the range today to test slugs. One rose to the top, the NSA 47.2 gr. I have the gun tuned to shoot these at 920 fps. I shot at the 50 and 100 yard lanes. After lasering the distance, they are actually 40 and 90 yards where the targets are set. The berms behind the targets are at 50 and 100 but anywho.

The pictured groups are not cherry picked as I really didn’t spend a lot of time at the range. The conditions were very good though. Each group pictured are 5-shots each. I can see this combo getting an astonishing group at 100 soon. These are fantastic Nick Nielson.

That looks real good. Edgun is my 30 cal test platform I use too. Great gun. Good shooting.

Don't mean to steal the thunder of your Eddy and the great products from NSA, but how does your .30 Uragan compare side by side?

Here is a 90 yard 5-shot group I shot with 44.75 gr EDgun pellets from the Uragán 🌪 @FunGun

These are traveling at 890 fps.

I made a post the other day asking people to share their slug/gun/velocity/details with me because I'm compiling a list of data to share with everyone to cut down on the learning curve with slugs. Some people replied, and some sent me private messages but not as replied as I 'd hoped. I thought since everyone shoots 10 shot, sub MOA groups with slugs at 100yds, 200yds and 300yds that there would be all kinds of replies to my post! LOL. Joking of course! Anyway, I hope you don't mind if I bookmark your results, add it to my notes and share in my data list when finished. Have a good one!

Thank you! I've been thinking a lot about how I'm going to log and share the data. Already, there are so many weights, shapes, designs and calibers of slugs, so many different guns, velocities and all the other pertinent variables that will need to be shared too. I think it will be cool and really helpful when I can figure it out. A spreadsheet might be my best option, I've just never done it before. I'll get it. Thank you. Stoti

Great to have you going to the range and sharing with us again Derrick. That Eddy is phenomenal with those Nielsons. Between your's and Mike's .25 looks like the Eddy's are real performers with slugs.

And that Rang a Tang target is just enough to make my mouth water. I need to see more targets with the "Uri" ;-)

Nice looking shooter and groups there Derrick.

You do what you do tuning wise, and that thing will make it a lot harder to reach into a tin of pellets. Unless you're shooting a "pellet" only competition.

I have the .30 Edgun R5 Matador standard shooting the 47g NSA slugs at 820 fps....it can do hole in hole at 50 yards Consistently...unfortunately, I havent had the opportunity to stretch to 100 yet...but let me tell you...those 47g NSA slug packs a punch...sounds like a firecracker on impact... blow's the back out of crows....

That would be some serious woodchuck medicine....is that gun stock or have you worked some of your magic in tuning her up? A .30 is probably going to be my next venture and it looks like I need to keep my eyes peeled for one of those in the classifieds!!!

Thank you James. I have a Huma (set at 140 bar) in this one with just a slightly larger plenum than stock. Other than that, I’ve adjusted the trigger & polished the bore. That’s about it.

That's a sweet stick, Derek. I've almost bit at a couple that have come up recently as I've not tried an Ed yet. But I've kept myself out of the rolling gun game so far...
