No worries. I was just thinking balanced valve theory…. Not specific guns.My bad, Ghost or a Blackwolf are foreign to me

I don’t know a lot about this sort thing, but I read that the HP valve is titanium and is made for the United States (FAC) version of the Blackwolf. Maybe some of the info and photos below would help.

@Centercut. Called aoa today you need a ghost spring kit which according to them fits and will fix the problem.

Well, I lowered the reg pressure to about 115 bar. I was trying to get the gun to shoot JSB 44.75 (or variant) close to 885-890 fps, and have power wheel adjust mid 850s to low 920s (for testing). With the reg at about 115, all power wheel settings from 6 to 11 gave me about 900 fps with little to no variance as I adjusted the wheel in steps.
The spring currently installed is too strong, and I ordered a Ghost spring set from AOA. When received I will install a weaker spring which I think will do the job.
If I can get the BW tuned for a good speed with the RM 44.75, and get good dope over the next couple of weeks, I want to shoot it at the TexTreme EFT GP in Clifton, TX on 7-8 June 2025. I’ll take a leap of faith since the gun I shot to finish 2nd place at the EFT GP event in Oregon a couple weeks ago was stone cold lights out.

@Centercut Are you referring to a hammer spring? If so, does the power act as a hammer spring tensioner?

Yes, hammer spring. Don’t know what you mean by “power act as hammer spring tensioner”. It uses a balanced titanium valve if that means anything to you. I know the process to tune the gun is different than what I am used to.

@Centercut My mistake. I meant "power wheel." You mentioned a spring and a wheel. I didn't know if you meant a hamer srping pr if the wheel used some sort of spring/coil. My first thought was a hammer spring dial or something equivalent which is why I asked. I'm not familiar with air guns that use power wheels. The only thing close to that, that I have would be a Huben. I'm not quite sure what the power wheel does on the Ghost or Black Wolf.

I’ve found that in order to get the “adjustability” with the power wheel, the reg pressure has to be higher than lower and “at the knee” like a regular non balanced valve gun.
I bumped mine up to about 125 bar from 115 bar (factory was 145 bar), and got some adjustability, but not the spread I had with factory settings.
I settled on about 910 fps on level 6 with 45 grain pellets. From a 250 bar fill, I get about 3 mags (24 shots).
Both the JSB 44s and AEA 45s shot about the same, but the BC on the AEAs is about 20% higher, so I’ll go with those. They do appear to be unobtanium at the time…

Checked out the BW tune today. AEA 45s at about 913 fps. Good starter tune. Good accuracy at 100Y. Two mags.

Also, apart from the High rings, the Damn Picatinny is also narrower than standard. I now have confirmation on that. So make sure that your High rings tighten on the rail. So, neither Athlon Sig nor Stadard's rings fit tight.
