30 cal std challenger stock reshaping

So I would like to reshape my challenger stock making it lighter and possibly doing some sort of finger groves for a pistol grip type of feel. What I'm looking for is some challenger owners to speak up and help give me some ideas about how to reshape it and anyone who has hands on experience with this type of project. I have an orbital sander, files and chisels. TIA.

Seems that I change many of mine to better fit my hand(s).
I use a high speed die grinder with various tool bits, get's thigs done quickly. But nothing wrong with files (wood files and rasps) and sand paper, just slower !

Another thing to try is epoxy to fill in places where you "want" material, but isn't there.
