.30 Cal JSB Hades

So I just received my order of the recently released .30 cal Hades pellets! I took them straight outside to test them with ballistic gel. I was using my Impact MK2 that I currently have set up for slugs max I was shooting the 44.75 gr pellets at 1024 FPS giving a muzzle energy of 104.2 FPE. I shot into the gel at 20 yards and this is what the recovered pellet looked like.

The smaller pellet is a Hades I recovered from the gel in .22 cal. The .30 expanded to .454”!

I shot 10 shots to get on target and then shot a 5 shot group at 55 yards and I’m sure I can tighten the groups up if I dropped the tune down a bit on speed! The group was 3/4”

Has anyone else shot these yet? What speeds are working for you guys? I’ll be using these on prarie dogs in a few weeks!!

I get to hunt with them tomorrow. A friend's place is overrun with ground squirrels. Too bad for them. Took 6 shots when I received them yesterday & I think they'll be as laser accurate as the 44.75 JSB's in my Boss. Love the way they mushroom! Lethal pattern on the domes of those pellets. We'll see tomorrow.

Awesome! That is a nice rifle to be shooting these out of! The squirrels are not going to know what hit them lol!

Can anyone share the BC for the .30 Hades. Really would appreciate it.

It has been a long time since I have checked validation on the BC, but my Strelok Pro app says that at 1045 fps my BC is .080 with the Hades in .30 caliber. And another rifle says that at 920 fps BC is .040. These BC numbers are for longer range shooting and so your results will vary. But these will be close enough that you are able to adjust the numbers in the app from there to get you dialed in.

Could you please shoot the ballistics gel at 50 yards or more to see if they still expand after losing almost half they're energy? The .22s expand great up close but not so great at long range.

Sure, give me a day or 2 and I’ll shoot several calibers and post some results! I can also use the labradar and get get the BC from them!
