Tuning 30 Bobcat issue MK 1

Hello,

I recently sold a MK1 30 Cal Bobcat and seemed all was fine with the buyer. He had aired it up to the proper bar, and shot it. Problem came after the 3rd or 4th re fill, when the air was put in, it all came out again, and now will not hold air. I had this serviced by FX for a trigger issue, and I know they go over the gun before returning it. Just wondering if any have had this experience, or have an idea what would cause this, Thanks. Jim

Probably the valve pin/valve seat area. The actual brass retainer on the pin can slide forward and then the actual valve disc no longer seals against the seat. It could also be the seat or the seat o-ring. The Mk1 Bobcat is not an easy gun to work on, since the Mk1 has the copper tubing running from the pressure tube inlet to the fill foster and fill gauge. Very easy to break if you're not super careful. The rest of it is pretty much like any Bobcat/Boss/Royale... The parts an be ordered from FX-USA.

Its easy. You have to first remove the air tube after you loosen the allen screw (a couple of turns) in the hole near the forward part of the stock. Then unscrew the air tube - the gun doesn't need to be degassed. Once that is done its just the one screw under near the grip and it'll come right off. Kind of a pain to have to remove the pressure tube before removing the stock.

PS., the Mk1 has a fill foster fitting, not a fill port with a fill probe.
