nice work. i like the 2nd rifle shown in the vid the best. back in the day i used to just use linseed oil on my hunting guns. i loved the warm look but it was hours of hand rubbing and many coats. these days i build midcentury modern furniture for fun and like your technique, i fill in the pores by sanding with up to 600 grit. i sand it wet with whatever oil i'm using which is typically danish oil.
