28 grain HP slugs

How fast would you shoot for best accuracy.? I posted this under PCP , but figured it belonged here.lol
It's a Zelos .22 cal 26" barrel

It really depends on the gun since slugs are spin stablized… also what caliber? 28gr in .22 is pretty different then 28gr in .25…

In my 250z (.25cal) when I run 28gr I run them really fast. Like 980-100fps because they shoot crazy flat out to 150y… I don’t shoot H&N slugs but they are accurate… Id be shooting for at least 930fps.
 
When I used to reload my own ammo for my .308 I learned too much speed can be detrimental. Like blowing up a balloon then let go it flies all over the place. Try something a little slower like 920.
I did, they group poorly at lower FPS. 1000FPS and above they are tight and the velocity is much more consistent. I saw the same thing with the Max 1.
