I’m going to order a .257 Texan to hunt coyotes here in Northern Cali.; most likely going to hunt orchards and foothills. What mods should I do to get the most power, accuracy, and reach in able to drop em’ at 100 yards+ ?
You do any hunting with it?Nothing really. Its solid performer out of the box.. if you want to improve it get stock for it and if you have change to use lathe you could thicken barrel with carbonfiber. Thats what I have done and its by far most accurate pcp Iv ever shot at 100yds and beyond.

Sadly no. Hunting is not allowed in this country by using airguns except inside buildings and 257texan aint really good tool for that. Mine is 100% built for paper punching. You do any hunting with it?
Maybe using thicker paper? Just a thought. (HK being a wise azz)Sadly no. Hunting is not allowed in this country by using airguns except inside buildings and 257texan aint really good tool for that. Mine is 100% built for paper punching.
That sounds about right. I think I paid that for mine, but mine went on a TalonP, not a Texan.I think I paid $250 for my mad dog stock, it really made it a lot easier to shoot. I do have the .457, not a .257 but I don't think there is much difference in this context.
Sweet setup! How do you slug the barrel?A few things come to mine. First slug the barrel and order the correct sizing die. This is very important for accuracy and control leading. A good set of cleaning rods . Gotta keep the barrel clean . The maddog stock is high on list. Sizing lube. Rc shock oil for bullet lube and a good external regulator. Assortment of slugs and big air tank and you are good to go. Ps, don't forget Donnyfl if you have long bbl.

Not to bad I thought it would be in the 500 category!I think I paid $250 for my mad dog stock, it really made it a lot easier to shoot. I do have the .457, not a .257 but I don't think there is much difference in this context.
There are a lot more bullet mold options in the .257 than in a light .30 cal. and most of those options are going to be in .308.Is the Condor .30 conversion worth it over .25/.257 if the primary use will be raccoons, but occasional coyote?
Thank you! You do anything internally? Like hammer spring, valve, etc…Get a stock... Slug your barrel... Fire lap or hand lap barrel.... Tether with decent regulator... Get a regular cleaning rod and brass brush. Keep your barrel clean no leading!!! Hopefully you get a decent factory barrel and go from there.. I made my own stock for my Texan from my old crossbow stock. You can buy thick carbon fiber tube and completely cover your barrel making it full 1.0 inch and everything is tight. If you cast you should powder coat too. Quite a few benefits.
