RTI Prophet Performance 1 - but with a recently purchased RPB barrel in it.
Currently setup shooting 36.2 NSA's @915'ish and shoot's them . . . pretty good. Not bad / not great - I'd like to see tighter grouping.
So . . . I picked up two packages of ZAN's - one 33g and the other 35g. They showed up yesterday, I just got home from work today and weather not to bad - slight breeze, temp low 40's. I made no change to the gun w/respect to hammer or regulator setup - just wanted to see how they'd group at 30yds in my back yard and see if one would reveal itself as "the one" to pursue further for a more thorough evaluation - ie; shoot 'em over a chrony and adjust hammer / reg as needed to see if can get grouping to tighten up.
. . .'eh - they're both not bad - the one 33g flyer I'm pretty sure was me - I pulled it. {sigh} ( 5x groups ) The 35g group was pretty consistent - somewhat vertical stringing though (?) and the poi on that one was definitely different - a little low and to the right.
Obviously they should be flying faster than the heavier 36.2 NSA's but again - I just did this real quick out in the back yard before light goes away so no clue how fast they were going. That 33 group wound up with a nice 3 shot clover leaf with the one flyer. ( and again - the other one I'm quite sure was me ) The 35 group seems like it was a little more consistent though . . . I think.
Weather is supposed to tank tomorrow ( figures . . . nice all week and then goes south on Saturday ) but is supposed to be better on Sunday. Weather permitting and I commit myself and a block of time to go out to the range with chrony, tools to adjust hammer, reg, air, etc . . . which of these would you spend some time with to see if you could get them grouping well out to longer distances? I want decent grouping out to 100 - ideally 150 - ideally would be . . . . . no more than a 1.5 / 1.75" out beyond the 100yd mark.
