25 Shots with Daytstate Huntsman Revere .25 Caliber. JSB Hades

The 177 is super impressive. That's the ticket for that gun. I see a lot more value in it than the 25.

Agreed!

Absolutely fantastic

It's as if Daystate designed the 177 then gave thought to the 22 and then to the 25.

BTW

I own an unregulated 25caliber Huntsman XL

Can anyone can show results of adding a Huma?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I personally don’t think it’s worth $1300 but to each his own. I’d be a buyer at $900. I too would’ve thought with a “Harper sling shot” valve and reg would be doing better numbers than that. The Kral is more like a field hockey player that can get the job done, definitely not a cheerleader

No Harper sling shot in .25 I think....

I would also like to add that the BSA Scorpion in .22 or .177 is also a great budget-ish ($600) alternative to the Revere/Huntsman. Yes, it’s not a side lever cocking gun but the bolt action on it is silky smooth (I prefer it to the side lever on the Liberty). It’s also fairly compact, has decent consistency without a regulator, wicked accurate, has a very high-quality feel, is balanced incredibly well, and is a real pleasure to shoot right out of the box in every way.

Don’t me wrong, I’m sure the Daystate is more refined and accurate, but for those that don’t have that kind of budget I would seriously consider the Scorpion.

Could swear I read something like that too; the .25 either doesn't have it or it loses it's efficiency advantages over other hammer/valve setups once you get past .22. Can't find the source though.

Imprinted on the right side of the action on my Huntsman XL 25 is "Harper Patent Daystate England"

However when removing the hammer spring it can be easily seen that there is no Sling Shot adjuster at the back of the hammer.

Unlike the 22 & 177 I have seen with the Slingshot

I do not know if this is true of all 25s or if a Slingshot was added at some point in production.

Would explain a lot. I mean why do the .177 and .22 seem so much more efficient? Don't get me wrong.... not too concerned about the .25 shot count... I think energy is fine and accuracy is lights out. For hunting... it's Ok..... maybe that was the thought process?

The older I get, the better I remember the things that never happened 🙈🙉🙊. In any case, think what's really working the most against .25 in that platform is the 162cc air tank.

@markfrommelt, great string on the .177! Pretty good battery there... can do most of your practice & plinking with the .177 & when you hunt with the .25 it'll feel like an old friend.
