25 or 30 caliber for 100 yard shooting??

I have a FX Maverick in 25 caliber and it shoots pellets pretty good. In good weather is will shoot 100 yard MOA most of the time. Looking at getting a new Skout EPO and wondering will a 30 caliber give me better performance than a 25 caliber (shooting pellets). I do not shoot any competition or do hunting. Only do benchrest at 50 and 100 yards on my own range. I shoot almost every day and usually 100 shots or more. Don't want to go with slugs because of the extra expense.

I would look at the bc of some projectiles and calculate the stabilization factor for them at the twist rates you may be using for given projectile lengths. Large diameter or heavy isnt always the best way to go ime. The 25 king heavies might perform for you. The heavy for caliber pellets that are longer tend to behave like "iffy slugs". The 22 monsters have allowed me to get to 150 if there's no cross breeze. It took a long time but I now do the calculations on potential projectiles before I even get a gun. 25 is pretty magical in my experience. It just does well all around.

.30 pellets themselves are going to be quite the extra expense when compared to .25. Not sure the benefits if they are there would outweigh that.

As an owner of .25 & .30 guns I don't mind the extra cost of the .30. It's far more dependable at long range in "sketchy" conditions but I mainly hunt, not target shooting so I'm only going through 30-40 pellets average on a typical outing.
