I actually like the longer barrel on the MK3. But I sure wish it came with a walnut stock. Yours just looks richer. I have to admit for being a plastic stock it does have a nice feel. Sorry, plastic sounds cheep. But by any other name it’s what it is. It just doesn’t have the same appeal as wood. That’s just my likings, which don’t mean squat!

I agree with you. There are perks to my WC MKIII though, such as more power, light weight durable and comfortable synthetic stock, and the external adjustable power. But, my Wildcat MKII with the addition of the 600mm superior liner and Huma-air power plenum narrowed the gap between the two. Both are very impressive using NSA slugs weights 26.8, 29, 29.5, and 33.5 grain.

I noticed that on your chrony report you have 8 shots, How many shots are you getting from each with the different plenums? I have a Mark I in .25 with a Huma and I have the Power Plenum (not installed) as well and shoot Prairie Dogs each year. I would like more shots and, was hoping it would just make it more efficient but worry that I will loose too much volume. Been looking at the Rowe Power Plenum.

Thanks

On the Wildcat MKII getting 5 magazines equaling 40 shots. Powered up the way I have it, of course I could get more if powered down by backing out the hammer spring. With power plenums you can tune for power or efficiency, I guess I’m going for the power. I’m liking how she’s shooting the 26.8 NSA’s @ 985 for 57 FT. / LBS. forty times over.

On the Wildcat MKIII, haven’t counted. I’d have to get back to you on that.

Thanks Joe for the link on the barrel band. It arrived today. Spent my lunch hour peeling the carbon fiber wrap off my barrel so it would slip on. Re-sighted in at 50. The band must raise the barrel just a tad as it was hitting 3” high at 50 yards. All is good now.

Yes indeed, a quick re-zero after installation and things should be good. What I did was sand the inside of the shroud side of the barrel band (opened it up slightly) so it slides smoothly over the shroud. Then removed a measured piece of the carbon fiber wrap from my air-cylinder. That way I still have the carbon fiber look and the barrel band can secure directly on to the anodized air-cylinder. Works a charm!! Glad you received yours, that was a fast delivery from the UK!

Fully agree Joe ! I have menawhile installed a huma reg , dual transfer port and a huma reg gauge. Nice cocking handle (see my avatar) and some other wannahaves on my WC MK3 .22 shooting the 20.2 grain nsa’s at 950 fps. likea laser. Currently waiting for a nice custom wood stock offer from Gunnar !

wildcat rules here because of its estethics and basic simplicity of setting once and forgetting about settings after and just aim and shoot.
by the way also just swapped my Delta titanium 2.5-15x56 for a Sightron 3-16x42 first focal plane ! As with the slugs distances over 50 yards are reality with high precision potential I have digged into MOA dots use of a scope and there the Sightron ticks many of boxes for me.
did you do any changes on your WC rifles lately ?

Good on you, Ladwict! I bet your Wildcat MKIII .22 cal. is a lazer indeed!! Sightron scopes have wicked glass and reticles.. nice !

Well, since 6 months has past since I started this thread, I have done just one accessory change on each Wildcat.

The Wildcat MKII has gotten a scope upgrade through warranty. (HawkeSportOptics unlimited lifetime warranty) The WC MKII’s 6- 24x56 Hawke Sidewinder FFP (Gen-1) died in battle (lol) and via warranty it was replaced with the new Gen-2 FFP Sidewinder 6-24x56 and I love the gen-2 version on the WC MKII!!

The .25 Sniper Wildcat MKIII has got a dual magazine holder saddlebag style.

Nice additions. Few pics of my nice Tier One scope rings and other stuff I like on my WC like the HUMA moderator, cocking handle from Bagnall and Kirkwood and a Madritsch 45 degrees picatinny mount . Look forward posting the upcoming sightron and wood stock in the near future. It is defintely a keeper. My previous Cricket and Lelya I liked a lot but this one is just a step ahead.

My Mk3 sniper wont get those kinda speeds to save a life. Going to have to get the 2.5 plenum. Im only getting 820 fps with JSBs mk2 redesigned 33.95. Benjamin 28 grains about 870 . Im using the heavy slug barrel. Hammer is maxed and reg is 150 bar.

The larger plenum will make the difference. It enables the Wildcat to be tuned for more power or better efficiency. Big plenums on adjustable regulator and hammer spring airguns open up a whole new realm of shooting possibilities. They allow you to drop the reg. pressures and gain velocity. More compressed usable air per shot, the more speed. Good luck to ya!

I put the plenum in got me another 80 fps with the 33.95 pellets so 900 even now . I just got the slug power kit a couple days back haven’t put it in yet. Just made a deal on a gen 1 impact with power plenum. So am probably going to put the mk 3 22 barrel back on it and get some nsa slugs. I love the gun in 22. My opinion it needs a bottle to make shot count to my liking.
