If 25.3 are moving at 980, then the Heavies will certainly go around 890.Probably 840-880 fps
Well , yeah. The vet 2 tactical with a 700mm barrel can push the 34g pellet real fast. I added just a heavy hammer spring and I'm pushing 38g slugs at 970 for 80 Foot pounds which would equate to 34g going 1025 FPS. but pellets tumble at those velocities. I just recommended starting at 840-880 fps with 34g pellets. But you have to see the accuracy, now Taipan, with the CZ barrels seem to have no problem zinging pellets in the 9-950 FPS and still maintain accuracy, but tuning is critical. I personally have never seen a taipan vet suck at shooting pellets at a fairly wide range of speeds. If 25.3 are moving at 980, then the Heavies will certainly go around 890.
Ironically he has just messaged, he recommended 2 pellets and 1 slug but no details on tuning. Started some initial testing yesterday, first time I have shot the Taipan and it’s amazingI half expected this. I was hoping he would at least cast an opinion.

Tony is an awesome person! He is always busy but he will return emails, texts, and calls. Have fun tuning for the projectiles you want to shoot.Ironically he has just messaged, he recommended 2 pellets and 1 slug but no details on tuning. The pellets I want to use initially are JSB Hades and they come in at 26 grains so need to turn the spring down a bitWell , yeah.
